Weekly Sewing Classes

Additional Information

Kids Weekly Sewing Classes for girls and boys ages 7+ (2nd grade). Each class has a maximum of 4 students.
Honey Bee Sewing provides the sewing machine, tools, and limited notions for your sewing projects. The student/parents provide the supplies needed including fabric, and some notions , etc.
Classes are located in my home sewing studio in Layton, Utah
To register you will need to complete Registration form, pay supply and pattern book fees. Supply fee and book fee is due at time of registration to reserve your child's spot. Tuition will be due the 1st class in Sept.
Supply fee is $60 for the school year new student and returning students (non-refundable). New Students will also need to purchase Kids Can Sew Pattern Book $42+sales tax, Tuition is $85.00 per month. (Ask about sibling discount)
Private Lessons are $45 per hour (one student), $60 per hour (two students)
Fall Semester classes will be held Sept 3 to Dec 20

Policies & Procedures for Weekly Classes

Tuition/Fees

Tuition for classes is $85.00 per month. If tuition is paid after the 15th a $10 late fee will be charged. Fall Semester classes will be held Sept 3 to Dec 20 and Spring Semester Jan 7 to April 30. Supply fee is $60 per school year (paid at registration). New Students will also need to purchase Kids Can Sew Pattern Book ($42+sales tax)

Most months have 3-4 classes, some have 5 and some have fewer because of holidays and school holidays. Tuition is not prorated for missed classes and there are no tuition refunds. If a student must miss a class, please notify me at least 3 hours before scheduled class to qualify for make up class. Make up classes are not guaranteed. They are only offered if there is space in another class. Class Cancellations: If I must cancel due to weather events or illness, make-up days will be offered.

The Parent/Guardian will be responsible for providing the supplies needed such a fabric, and notions, etc. I suggest that you allow your child to pick out the fabric. I will provide basic thread colors, elastic, sewing needles, bobbins, pins, scissors and supplies for various holiday projects during the year.

Safety will be taught from day one, but sometimes accidents still happen. Students will be working with pins, needles, scissors and occasionally a hot iron. I have a first aid kit handy and will apply cold water to minor burns.

Please make sure they have their patterns and instruction book for each class.

Please be prompt picking up your student. If you're running more than 5 minutes late or will miss class, call or text me.

Dropping

If a student no longer wants to attend, please notify me 30 days in advance.

Sick/Make up Classes

NO SICK STUDENTS. If the student has any signs of fever, cough, or any sickness, please do not send your child. If I notice any sick symptoms, a parent will be asked to pick up child.

If you notify me that your student is sick. Make up class will only be offered if there is space in another class.

In the event that class is cancelled due to my illness, Make up days will be offered. It will be the student’s and or guardian’s responsibility for requesting the dates available for the makeup.
